This song was one of a few that were commissioned by Kingston Music Services in 2017 for a Schools’ Choir Festival on the theme of ‘Hope’. The title was originally a Sufi proverb that first appeared in a Persian tale about a King who asked his Wise Men for a phrase to remind him that nothing lasts forever.
